Our goal is to bring members together for social and community benefits, and to strengthen the bonds and create new ones by connecting Pike alumni together throughout all of the Chicago Metro area.
"Let's get back to basics and get together for a drink"
- Start with happy hours every three weeks
- Shift between easy to access locations around the city
- Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday events
- Expand to suburb networking happy hours
- Grow attendance with consistency
"We've picked up some momentum, let's kick it up a notch"
- Expand beyond networking happy hours
- Consider lunches, notable speakers, and family friendly events
"We have some forward moving power, let's give a little back to the community"
- Participate in local community organizations
- Participate with local Pike chapters
- Participate with national Pike events and other Alumni Associations
"Something big will come"
- Find innovative ways to drive the advancement of Chicago area Pike members
All it really takes is for people to show up and participate.
Once we get the ball rolling, we need some people to cough up a few bucks to keep it going.
Drag others out.
Join the association board, participate in the planning and execution.

Dear Chicago Pike Alumni,
I’m thrilled to be taking over as your new Association President, being passed the flame from Mike Hoadly who has successfully led the organization for many years. Though the Association activities have been mostly dormant through the pandemic, life is steadily coming back to the Windy City, and I’m honored to bring the association into the next phase of its life. Up until about a month ago, the association has not met in-person (understandably) in nearly two years. We have some work to do to become again one of the nation’s premier examples of a Pike Alumni Association. To help us achieve this, I’ve put together a multi-year plan which will start slow and low-key and work back up to being a mutually beneficial mechanism for our members.
The Association activities will be starting with a regular series of happy hours, roughly every three weeks to be exact. The nature of these happy hours is purely casual—come if you can, when you can, stop by for a quick drink, and connect with others you know or have never met. I’ll send out regular emails to keep you updated. I assume over time that these gatherings will grow, and once we have a predictable sense of size, we can start reserving space at great venues. We’ll be doing most of the events in the city; however, we will get out to the suburbs from time to time. This will be just the start—with 6 months of solid engagement, the Association can start to consider more intimate and focused events featuring prominent local Pikes, unique experiences, and larger celebratory gatherings. Further down the line, with some solid steam, the Association can take on larger tasks like community, fraternal, family, and service events where we can truly exemplify the bonds of Pi Kappa Alpha.
A little about me... After attending and completing my undergraduate studies at Old Dominion University I started my career at The Pi Kappa Alpha Memorial Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, as the first Director of Marketing. Since then, I’ve spent my career working in all aspects of marketing and now own and manage a marketing consulting firm. To this day, I believe that Pi Kappa Alpha has played a significant role in me being exactly where I am today. I now live in Lincoln Park and enjoy all that the city has to offer.
If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates on upcoming events and opportunities to connect. I hope to meet many of you soon.
